An amazing Antonio Onorato closes ‘Voci d’autunno’ (Rai3 – 29.09.2025)

The concert Neapolitan Avantgard, curated by Antonio Onorato, brought the Voci d’Autunno Jazz Festival to a triumphant close at the former Molini Meridionali Marzoli in Torre del Greco.

Joined by his latest band — Gianni D’Argenzio on saxophone, Mario De Paola on drums and Angelo Farias on bass — Onorato delivered a set that reaffirmed his role as both a contemporary interpreter and a custodian of the musical movement pioneered by Pino Daniele.

His rendition of Chi tene ’o mare (Pino Daniele’s song) was as distinctive and surprising as ever.

Having graced prestigious stages such as New York’s Blue Note, Onorato continues to reinvent music through his remarkable gift for improvisation. With jazz as his language, he transcends collective identity to craft a soundscape that is unmistakably his own — earning recognition on both the Italian and international scene.
